Website Launch Checklist for Kenyan Businesses

Launching a website is exciting, but a few missed details can cost you enquiries. Use this checklist before you go live.

Content and design

• Check every page for typing mistakes and correct business details.
• Make sure your phone number, email, WhatsApp link and address are correct everywhere.
• Use clear photos and remove any placeholder text or images.

Mobile and speed

• Open the site on at least two different phones and browsers.
• Compress images so pages load quickly on mobile data.
• Check that buttons and forms are easy to tap.

Contact forms and tracking

• Send a test enquiry and confirm that it reaches your inbox.
• Add Google Analytics or a similar tool so you can see visitors and enquiries.

SEO basics

• Give each page a unique title and description.
• Submit your sitemap to Google Search Console.

Security and backups

• Use strong passwords and keep WordPress, themes and plugins updated.
• Turn on an SSL certificate so your site loads over HTTPS.
